In Tucson, OMA employs 54 professional artists to bring their expertise, creativity, and joy to complement what is being taught in the classroom. These artists are trained in the OMA model, and are paid by OMA to teach twice-weekly lessons, and attend regular meetings with the classroom teachers and arts integration specialist to ensure that all lessons conform to state and national curriculum standards.

All OMA AIS, teaching artists and many classroom teachers attend a week-long training session in the summer and shorter trainings each quarter during the school year.
